Organizing Wins!
Organizing isn't easy but it is well worth the effort. Below are some of the Chemical Workers' recent campaigns that prove voting YES for union representation is the only way.

American Presidential Lines, Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Workers contacted the union due to a number or workplace issues such as arbitrary and unfair treatment. The employees were tired of it and said UNION YES!

E C Management - Fort Lee, Hopewell, Virginia

Just like the employees at American Presidential Lines these employees had the same issues. Once again they were fed up and JOINED THE ICWU.

Degussa, Orange, Texas

Many employers make promises they don't or won't keep - that was the case here. The employees contacted a Local at another Degussa facility and found out how much better those employees had it.They happily voted the UNION IN.

Akron Paint Company, Akron, Ohio

This is a smart employer. The employer called us and said we want to be UNION. Being union gives you access to many benefits that a non-union company just does not have. They gave us voluntary recognition and it has been easy sailing since then.

Southern Clay Products, Louisville, Kentucky

This facility was being sold and the employees saw the importance of protecting their wages, benefits and working conditions. They said WE NEED A UNION AND THEY GOT ONE.

Solutia (Lab Technicians), Springfield, Massachusetts

ICWU represents the P&M unit and the Lab Techs wanted the same benefits. Now they have them.

Pictured below accepting the check for this organizing campaign from left to right are Frank Cyphers awarding the check to Robert Bellerive, President, Roger Lavoie, Recorder, and Richard Begin, Vice-President. The local felt that the membership had a part in pressuring the company to allow these new workers to organize and include their department in manufacturing. The local officers decided to award 5 gift certificates for $100.00 each at a raffle at the next membership meeting to promote the $500.00 award from the ICWUC. They want to keep organizing.

As you can see, people helping people, and locals helping people all adds up to UNIONS HELP PEOPLE!
