REGION 5

Neal Dillard was elected Vice President for a second full term by the delegates, and appointed Regional Director by President Cyphers at the ICWUC Convention in October 2007.

Region 5 encompasses the southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The members within Region 5 work in many diverse industries, including:

  • phosphate mining and processing
  • manufacturing animal feeds, resins, pharmaceuticals, paper products, carbon products, wood products, pesticides, fertilizer, water treatment chemicals and many other items
  • distribution of natural gas, propane gas and provide services to customers

The Region 5 staff is dedicated to assisting locals and members in all areas, such as problem slving, contract negotiation, arbitration, and presenting cases before the National Labor Relations Board.

Organizing is a top priority within Region 5, whether it is assisting with signing non members within our organized locations, or working on campaigns in unorganized locations.

We invite all our members to join us in maintaining and building our membership by supplying potential organizing leads and working with us on campaigns and/or in-plant membership drives.

    JOB WELL DONE!

This is a picture of the bargaining committee from Local's 297c, 298c, 528c, and 954c, all gas locals with the Public Service Company of North Carolina. They are responsible for gas distribution and servicing of both natural and propane gas to customers all over North Carolina. After a hard bargaining session they just ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement with their employer. Congratulations on a new contract to our members in those locals, and congratulations on a job well done by the combined committee.
