Who Can Join?

YOU CAN!

The Chemical Workers are made up of a diverse group of members.

Our members are miners. They mine and mill ores, phosphates, minerals, clay, limestone and salt.

Our members work in manufacturing. They make wood products including household furniture and decking materials. They produce paper products from paper in the books you read to wax paper you use in your kitchen and the paper you wrap presents in for your family and friends. They make plastic materials such as the plastic bag you bring your groceries home in to the laminate on your drivers license. They produce prepared meats such as sausage and lunch meat. They make freeze dried coffee, baking powder and cake mixes. They produce your pet's food and food for livestock on the farms. Our members produce the soap you use to bathe and the laundry detergent you use to wash your clothes. They make hair color, cologne, bath powder and cosmetics you use. They produce synthetic materials for x-ray film, the nylon in clothes and the fibers in yarn. They produce vitamins, herbs and other botanicals to help you stay healthy and they produce the drugs to make you get better when you are sick . They make the fertilizer to make your plants grow and the insecticide to kill the bugs that eat your plants. They make the metal for your doors and fire doors to keep you safe. They manufacture the products that make your household appliances and your automobile license plate tags. They manufacture surgical, medical and dental instruments. They produce automotive parts and railroad equipment. They produce the natural gas that heats your house and the gas that makes your car run.

Our members work in service industries that provide your electric, gas and sanitation services. They work in daycare facilities, facilities for the disabled, facilities for people recovering from drug and alcohol abuse and in nursing homes to care for you when you need it. They work for your local elementary and secondary school systems and in your local government offices. They drive buses and public transportation. They work in the restaurants you eat in and the stores you shop in. They work for federal credit unions and in the courts in your home town. Our members work in research, development and testing facilities to ensure that the food you eat, the prescribed drugs you take and the chemicals which your food is being treated with are safe for you and your family.

As you can see, the Chemical Workers are made up of people you support every day just by what you do naturally. We welcome workers in every field. Why not join us so we can help support you and your coworkers.
