Members of Local 94C of SBM LLC a new unit at Merck and Co. in Elkton, VA ratified their first Collective Bargaining Agreement on March 21, 2018.
The four year agreement raises wages, outlines overtime distribution, grants bidding and bumping rights and provides successor language in this very fluid world of sub contracting at one of our core employers.
Average increases year one were 5.8%. With several workers getting an increase of up to 24%, year one. Wage increases I the out years of the four-year deal average 3.5 % per year.
The membership voted overwhelmingly to approve the Agreement and look forward to many years of Union prosperity.
I cannot emphasize enough how SBM facilitated a positive negotiating environment and a collaborative approach to solving the issues at the table. The parties have, also, agreed to work with one another to introduce and implement a new model for service delivery that SBM feels will make them the preferred supplier of Soft Services in the pharmaceuticals industry.
SBM and the Council are properly aligned to have a mutually beneficial growth experience over the next decade.
