The Director of the ICWUC Cincinnati Center for Worker Health and Safety, John Morawetz, has announced his retirement. His last official day of work will be January 29, 2021. John has served the Center for 33 years and has been a non-stop advocate for the safety and health of our members as well as for ALL of America’s workers. His vast experience both in the field and legislatively is second to none. He has guided the Center through both friendly and not so friendly Administrations in Washington, DC and has never missed a grant funding opportunity. He is known for his experience and dedication to worker health and safety through both the labor movement and all governmental agencies that fund worker health and safety programs. We in the ICWUC and the UFCW have truly been blessed to have called John our Center Director. We have also been blessed to call him our friend and a true believer in workers safety. We will truly miss John, but we also know he will never be out of touch if the ICWUC needs him.
We welcome Shari Glines-Allen as the new Director of the Cincinnati Center. A search committee of professionals in the field have searched many people and have assisted us in selecting Shari. She is sure to be a great Director for the ICWUC and to be able to deal with all the governmental agencies she must be involved with. She has been employed by the Center since 2016 as a trainer and is very familiar with the Center and its workings. We look very forward to a great Center Director in Shari and we are proud she has taken on the responsibility of the Center. Welcome aboard, Shari!
